At the Mexican American Council “MAC” we are hope builders. Guided by our mission, “to ensure that every farmworker child is provided access to a quality education, technology, and the arts for a brighter future”, we strive to show youth and families that through hard work and dedication, anything and everything is possible. The American Dream is very much alive here in South Dade and our youth are a shining example. As we celebrated our 37th Farmworker Student Recognition Ceremony, presented in partnership with Schnebly Redland’s Winery, I look back at the incredible progress our community has made in education. Our “Senior’s Banquet”, which began as a high school graduation celebration, now included a healthy contingent of College and University Grads. This year we will celebrate our first Master’s in Education!

As a proud member of the South Dade Chamber and a native son of Homestead, I am blessed to say we accomplish this together as a community. Community partnerships and small business support are the cornerstones of our programmatic success. Thank you! Together, we are changing lives and creating a stronger and more vibrant South Dade.
