May Monthly Luncheon: Service Beyond the Uniform

The South Dade Chamber of Commerce proudly hosted its May Monthly Luncheon, “Service Beyond the Uniform,” bringing together military leaders, business professionals, elected officials, and community members for an inspiring afternoon focused on leadership, sacrifice, and service.

The luncheon spotlighted the continued contributions of service members whose impact reaches far beyond military duty and into the businesses, organizations, and neighborhoods that strengthen South Dade every day. The event reflected the Chamber’s ongoing commitment to honoring those who lead through service — both in uniform and throughout the community.

This year’s theme, “Service Beyond the Uniform,” recognized individuals who embody discipline, resilience, integrity, and compassion through their professional careers, volunteer work, and civic leadership. The program also reinforced the strong connection between military leadership and business leadership, highlighting the meaningful impact veterans and active-duty service members continue to make across the workforce and local economy.

Guests also heard from keynote speaker Mr. Katdo Robinson, whose message resonated with attendees through reflections on leadership, perseverance, service, and the importance of staying engaged within the community.

A standout moment of the luncheon was the presentation of the South Dade Chamber’s Military Excellence Award, recognizing individuals whose service and leadership go beyond the uniform and continue to make a lasting difference throughout South Dade.
