Students and families filled the ballroom at the DoubleTree by Hilton Miami Airport and Convention Center on Sunday, March 1, for the 2026 Perla Tabares Hantman National College Fair Miami. Hosted by Miami-Dade County Public Schools in partnership with the National Association for College Admission Counseling, the annual event once again brought higher education opportunities directly to the community.
District representatives and School Board members were in attendance as nearly 200 colleges and universities from across the country set up booths and met face to face with prospective students. Throughout the afternoon, conversations flowed between admissions officers, high schoolers and parents eager to learn more about the next step after graduation.
Students moved from table to table gathering materials, asking questions and making connections with representatives from institutions both near and far. Financial aid, scholarships, admission requirements and testing policies were among the most discussed topics. College advisors were also available to help families navigate the application process and provide guidance tailored to individual goals.
The fair served as a one stop opportunity for students at every stage of the college planning journey. For some, it marked the beginning of serious conversations about majors and campus life. For others, it offered clarity on deadlines and financial planning as graduation approaches.
The National Association for College Admission Counseling sponsors college fairs in more than 50 cities nationwide each year, drawing hundreds of thousands of students and parents. The Miami event continued that tradition, reinforcing the district’s commitment to expanding access to higher education information and resources.
