Miami-Dade County Public Schools Recognized forHighest 2025-26 FAFSA Completion Rate in the State

  • June 2026

As Miami-Dade County Public Schools (M-DCPS) celebrates its high school commencement ceremonies this week, the district has earned a major victory: M-DCPS currently holds the highest FAFSA completion rate in the state at 59.8%, according to the 2025-2026 Florida FAFSA Challenge results recently released by the Florida College Access Network (FCAN). This rate is notably higher than the statewide average of 50.9% and outpaces other large districts.

This recognition by FCAN, the state’s leading authority on college access, is a testament to M-DCPS’s commitment to postsecondary planning for all students and highlights the tireless work of our CAP Advisors and high school student services teams. These efforts ensure that every graduate, regardless of socioeconomic background, has a viable pathway to higher education and career success.

This annual initiative encourages schools and districts across Florida to increase their Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) completion rates to better support student success. FAFSA serves as the primary gateway for students to access federal grants, work-study funds, and loans, making it a critical indicator of college affordability and accessibility.

While this success is a source of local pride, it has also established M-DCPS as a leader at the state level. These efforts were spotlighted earlier this month at FCAN’s Talent Strong Florida 2026 Summit in Tampa, where our schools and district leadership were honored with an unprecedented seven trophies:

By opening doors to higher education and expanding opportunities for every student, Miami-Dade County Public Schools proudly stands as Your Best Choice for building brighter futures.
