The Town of Cutler Bay has started a video podcast about its own history, and the first episode features the mayor.
“Cutler Bay All Day” launched in late August. Each episode sits down with longtime residents, community leaders, elected officials, business owners and historians to talk through the places, events and milestones that made the town what it is. Episode one features Mayor Tim Meerbott.
Town Manager Rafael Casals said the podcast gives viewers a more personal perspective on the people who shaped the town.
There is a rule behind it. Section 3.11(B) of the Town Charter tells the Town Manager to reach residents of all ages through traditional media, online communication, community events and town halls. A video podcast is the town’s answer to the online half of that job.
