Palmetto Bay’s Skate Park Is Getting a Makeover

If your skater has been asking why the ramps are fenced off, here is the answer.

The Skate Park at Palmetto Bay Park is closed while the village makes improvements. Palmetto Bay announced the closure at the end of July and said the renovation was scheduled to take about three months, weather permitting.

That timeline points to a reopening sometime around late October, though rain can push it. The village says it will post updates as the work moves along.

“We look forward to welcoming everyone back to our freshly updated Skate Park in the near future,” the village said in its notice.

Where to skate in the meantime

The rest of Palmetto Bay Park is open. The village also keeps a Play by Play Guide on its website with the full list of parks, fields and programs, which is a good place to look for something to fill the gap.

For the current status before you load the car, check the Village of Palmetto Bay Parks and Recreation page.
