CITY OF HOMESTEAD AND LOCAL VFW CHAPTER UNITE FOR A COMMUNITY-WIDE VETERANS DAY CELEBRATION
WHAT: Homestead Salutes
WHEN: Wednesday, November 11, 2026 | 11 AM – 5 PM
WHERE: Losner Park – 104 N Krome Ave, Homestead, FL 33030
The City of Homestead is joining forces with the local Veterans of Foreign Wars (VFW) chapter and Veteran Organizations to present Homestead Salutes, a reimagined Veterans Day celebration taking place on Wednesday, November 11, 2026, from 11:00 AM to 5:00 PM at Losner Park.
This year, Homestead Salutes will unite the community’s longstanding Veterans Day Parade with an Americana-themed hometown picnic, creating one meaningful celebration honoring the courage, service, and sacrifice of the men and women who have served in the United States Armed Forces.
The day will begin at 11:00 a.m. with a Veterans Celebration Ceremony at Losner Park, offering the community an opportunity to come together, reflect, and celebrate the sacrifices of America’s veterans. From 12:00 to 2:00 p.m., the community will gather for the 65th Annual Veterans Day Parade. For more than six decades, the parade has been a cherished Homestead tradition and a staple of the community’s Veterans Day observance. Generations of residents and families have gathered to demonstrate their patriotism, recognize local veterans, and express their gratitude to those who have defended our nation’s freedoms.
Following the parade, Homestead Salutes will continue with a free Hometown Picnic at Losner Park from 2:00 to 5:00 p.m. The Americana-themed picnic will provide a welcoming gathering place where veterans, military families, residents, and visitors can come together in celebration of service and community.
The celebration will also feature a special Veterans Day Concert by the South Florida Youth Symphony from 4:00 to 5:00 p.m. inside the Seminole Theatre. The performance will offer a fitting musical tribute to veterans and bring the day’s commemorative activities to a meaningful conclusion.
