A MONTHLY NOTE FROM LISA ALBIZU-VAZQUEZ, EXECUTIVE DIRECTOR OF THE SOUTH DADE CHAMBER OF COMMERCE
July is shaping up to be a powerful month for the South Dade Chamber of Commerce, with a corresponding calendar that reflects the heart of this region: patriotism, business growth, community pride, and meaningful connection.
The month begins with a celebration of independence and local tradition at the Race to the Fourth at Homestead-Miami Speedway on July 4. This community event brings families, residents, and visitors together to celebrate freedom and the spirit of South Dade, meanwhile kicking off the month with energy and pride!
Allowing Businesses to truly learn how to protect their profit, manage rising costs, and make smarter financial decisions at Coffee & Commerce: Margin Matters. Join the South Dade Chamber for a practical breakfast session designed to help small businesses strengthen cash flow, pricing, and long-term resilience. July 8, 2026 at The Sanctuary @ 8:00 a.m. …
On July 10, the Chamber will turn its focus to honoring those who serve during Military Appreciation Day at the Marlins. As part of this initiative, the South Dade Chamber is seeking sponsors to help send military personnel and their families to the game. This is an opportunity for local businesses and community partners to show gratitude in a meaningful and memorable way. Contact the office for additional information.
The Chamber’s July Monthly Luncheon, “Freedom to Thrive,” will take place on July 16 and will feature keynote speaker Jose Gonzalez. The program will celebrate how South Dade has grown from strictly farmland and small towns into a thriving, resilient business community built by people who took risks, created something of their own, and still remained rooted in place, pride, and perseverance.
On July 22, the Chamber will continue building community connections with SDCC Night at NU Stadium, bringing members and partners together in a fun, spirited setting. That same day, the Chamber will also celebrate business and residential growth with a grand opening and ribbon cutting for a new DR Horton development in Homestead, recognizing continued investment in one of South Dade’s fastest-growing areas.
The month will close with another opportunity to casually connect during Chamber After Dark at the infamous JJ’s Cuisine in Homestead. This after-hours mixer will give members and guests a chance to build relationships, support a local business/member, and continue strengthening the bonds that make South Dade’s business community so unique.
From patriotic celebrations and military appreciation to business expansion and member networking, July reminds us that South Dade is not only growing—it is thriving with purpose, pride, and perseverance.
