Active Adults Pollinator Workshop
Friday, July 31, 1:00 p.m. Franjo Park, 20175 Franjo Road, Cutler Bay. Learn how to welcome butterflies, bees and other pollinators into your own backyard at this free gardening workshop for active adults. Refreshments included.
A Walk on the Wildside with Ron Magill
Saturday, August 1, 8:00 to 10:00 a.m. Zoo Miami, 12400 SW 152nd St. Beloved zoo ambassador Ron Magill shares amazing wildlife photos and the stories behind them. Then guests get to photograph the animals before the zoo opens, with a light breakfast included. Tickets are $40, or $30 for Zoo Miami members.
Opening Day: “The Vessels of Memory We Carry” at the Deering Estate
Saturday, August 1, 10:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. Deering Estate, 16701 SW 72nd Ave., Palmetto Bay. Miami artist Tori S. Scott explores cultural heritage and memory in a new installation inside the historic Richmond Cottage. On view daily through October 20, included with estate admission.
Back to School Splash Bash
Saturday, August 1, 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. Murray Park Aquatic Center, 6701 SW 58th Place, South Miami. Water games, free swim, free snow cones, and free bookbags and school supplies while they last. For South Miami residents with proof of residency.
