Deering Estate (Palmetto Bay)
The Deering Estate at 16701 SW 72nd Avenue is where South Dade history meets the bay. The preserved 1920s estate of Charles Deering sits on a stretch of coastline with nature trails, historic homes, and one of the best views in the county. The estate runs special programs all year, including ranger-guided lighthouse cruises on Biscayne Bay that sail past three historic lighthouses with a stop at Boca Chita Key. Thalatta Estate Park (Palmetto Bay)
A few blocks south at 17301 Old Cutler Road, Thalatta Estate is Palmetto Bay’s picture-perfect bayfront park. It’s a favorite spot for weddings and quiet afternoons, and on Sunday mornings the Village hosts Yoga by the Bay, with energizing and restorative classes for all levels at $6 per person. Registration closes the Friday before at 2:00 PM.
Pinecrest Gardens (Pinecrest)
Just inland at 11000 Red Road, Pinecrest Gardens packs botanical gardens, a splash pad, a playground, and an amphitheater into the site of the old Parrot Jungle. On Sundays from 9:00 AM to 2:00 PM, the award-winning farmers market takes over, complete with a free community yoga class at 8:30 AM. Matheson Hammock Park (Coral Gables edge)

Homestead Bayfront Park and Biscayne National Park (Homestead)
At the south end of the bay, Homestead Bayfront Park’s atoll pool and marina sit right next door to the Dante Fascell Visitor Center at Biscayne National Park, where entry to the visitor center grounds is free.
