Orchids in Coral Gables, a free craft hour for kids in Palmetto Bay, a night market in South Miami and a flamenco show in Pinecrest. Here are four things to do between Friday and Sunday.

Orchids in October at Fairchild

Saturday and Sunday, October 10 and 11, 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.
Fairchild Tropical Botanic Garden, 10901 Old Cutler Road, Coral Gables

Orchid growers set up across the garden for two days, so you can buy plants and ask the people who grew them how to keep them alive. Weekend tickets bought online are $27.95 for adults, $20.95 for seniors and $14.95 for kids 3 to 11. Kids 2 and under and members get in free. Buying online saves $5 a ticket, and parking is free.

Spooky Keychains at the Palmetto Bay Branch Library

Saturday, October 10, 11 a.m. to noon
Palmetto Bay Branch Library, 17641 Old Cutler Road, Palmetto Bay

Kids 6 to 11 draw their own Halloween design on Shrinky Dink plastic, then watch it shrink into a keychain. It is free and the library supplies the materials. You do need to register first, online or by calling 305-232-1771.

SoMi Second Saturdays Night Market

Saturday, October 10, 5:30 to 9:30 p.m.
Downtown South Miami, SW 73rd Street at SW 58th Avenue, South Miami

Local makers, food vendors and live music fill the street once a month, with a new theme each time. Admission is free. Park free all day in the city garage at 5829 SW 73rd Street.

Flamenco y Folklórico with Orchestra Miami

Sunday, October 11, 3 to 4 p.m.
Banyan Bowl at Pinecrest Gardens, 11000 Red Road, Pinecrest

A one hour Hispanic Heritage Month show for all ages. Dancers from Armour Dance Theatre perform flamenco, and Las Paisanas from Young Women’s Preparatory Academy perform folk dances from across Latin America. Juice and cookies follow. Advance tickets are $18 for adults, $15 for seniors 65 and up and $10 for kids, or $46 for a family pack of two adults and two kids. Prices go up a few dollars at the door. Come early: the Sunday farmers market runs in the south parking lot from 8:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m.
